About Me:
I am a short sale consultant and coach. I work with agents one-on-one to help them become more effective in closing their short sales. I also work with real estate brokers to create processing departments (or just one person) to handle their in house short sales. Most recently I was a Master Instructor for the CDPE course where I traveled throughout the country and had the privilege of teaching over 7000 agents and brokers how to work with distressed homeowners. After moving back to California (from Austin TX) I am now teaching for California Association of Realtors on several of their distressed property classes. I have had the privilege of being panelists for FHLMC, CACM and many other organizations that are dedicated to educating realtors. I am thrilled to be training short sales for Tomato University.
How long have you been in the Real Estate industry?
I have been in the escrow and title industry for 27 years. During that time I have managed escrow companies and been administration for a large national title company. I also was president and creator of a short sales processing company in California where I had the opportunity of working with more than 50 major lenders in completing hundreds of short sales.
What got you into Real Estate?
My career began as a fluke - I was struggling as a singer and needed a job - I stumbled into a title company and was asked if I knew what a promissory note and trust deed were. Never one to give up - I immediately answered "of course" and found myself working as an assistant for a top producing exchange escrow officer. Fell in love with the work and the people - the rest as they say "is history". And yes I still do sing - just as a vocation.
What is your favorite thing about your chosen career?
I love working with people and it is extremely gratifying to be part of a system that helps people. This current market is rich with opportunity not only financially but opportunity for us to discover the best in ourselves. So whether it is helping an agent with a difficult transaction or helping a seller understand how a short sale can give them a better financial future - there is great reward in helping.
What niche do you target?
Of course short sales is what I teach and train - but it is really more. It is helping agents make good decisions in their real estate business - no matter what the market looks like. So I provide tools and systems to make their real estate business not just survive but to thrive.
When you're not working you are...
Mostly working but I do have to take time out to spend with family and friends. Especially my 18 mos grandson Cove - due to my crazy travel schedule the last couple of years while training CDPE - I missed a lot - so I have lots to make up for. I also have a new grandbaby coming in Feb.
Where did you grow up?
I was born in Bakersfield, CA and lived in Southern California most of my entire life except for 2 year in Austin TX where I lived to work and travel for the Distressed Property Institute.
