About Me:
I have been a Realtor since 1997, and I've owned my own brokerage since 2004. I've trained hundreds of people on marketing techniques and the use of social media/blogging to gain clients and build a larger sphere of influence online. I have an online "audience" of over 19,000 people spread across the various platforms.\n\nI am a father of four awesome kids (11, 9, 4, and 1) - we have one boy and three girls, in that order. My wife and I have been together since 1991.
How long have you been in the Real Estate industry?
I worked in real estate marketing starting in 1996 (photography and printing, along with designing marketing materials for agents), then I got my RE license in January 1997. I've owned my own company since the fall of 2004, and I own an independent company with about 15 agents here in Austin, Texas.
What got you into Real Estate?
When I was working with agents as customers, I became interested in the industry, particularly when I saw that there wasn't really a limit to the income potential. Frankly, some of the top-producing agents that I worked with didn't seem that sharp, so I figured it couldn't be rocket science (I was right). :)
What is your favorite thing about your chosen career?
I get to work with people from all over the country and all over the world. I view real estate sales as an actual service, and I strive to provide actual value for those I help.
What niche do you target?
No niche per se, other than the fact I focus only on residential sales in and around Austin.
When you're not working you are...
Spending time with my family, probably. I have four kids (one boy and three girls - 11, 9, 4, and 1). My wife and I have been together since 1991.

What are your current marketing strategies?
Most of the stuff I do now with marketing is online. I've studied SEO since I started my website (www.austintexashomes.com) in 1998. I also do a good deal of "in person" networking. Most of my personal sales come from past clients, friends, and my blog.
